Tibetan Buddhist Spaces between Tradition and Technology
Originally developed as an AA Diploma project, Sacred Intelligence explores how Tibetan Buddhist cultural knowledge and inherited practices can engage with contemporary creative technology. The project combines cultural field research, computational analysis, robotic sand deposition, participatory interaction and responsive media to examine how cultural transmission can operate across geographical distance without reducing the depth, precision or embodied knowledge of the practice.
The work has progressed through cultural research, system architecture, tool and end-effector prototyping, computational pipelines and physical testing. Nominated for AA Diploma Honours in 2026, the project is now being developed towards an exhibition-ready participatory robotic installation and a practical model for Lhasa–London cultural exchange.
The following pages document the project's research, cultural knowledge framework, computational development, robotic prototyping and integrated spatial proposal.
